Team Beatcakes Rides Again

After a several-week hiatus, Cedar and I heralded a triumphant return to agility this morning.

We worked a pretty dang complicated course full of interesting challenges that tested even the most advanced dogs. Thankfully, Beatcakes and I are used to being in over our heads, so we managed to do quite well :). I was so pleased with her.

I was especially happy with her progress on the teeter. She is now doing an (almost) full-height teeter at speed, and doesn't seem to mind the banging noise or the tipping motion. We're almost ready to start adding it into our coursework practice. Yay!

We also got the opportunity to work some obedience with a few of the people at practice. We trained long sits and downs (my weak point as a trainer!), stand for exams, and figure-eights. Cedar did very well considering the amount of distractions and the fact that I haven't practiced around many "real" people and other dogs before. Good proofing, obviously. We're going to try for our Canine Good Citizen certificate next weekend... wish us luck!

Practice today was awesome... and we sure did a lot of stuff!

We jumped...

We tunneled...

We made contact... ([un]fortunately, not with aliens)...

Did some obedience...

And even did a few party tricks, just for fun :)

"Stick 'em up!"

"Bang!"
