Who am I?
I'm a 20-something married chick trying to figure out what I want in life and how to get there. In December 2011, I graduated with my Masters in English Literature from Boise State University, and am currently attempting to hack it as a writer.
I have three crazy dogs that enrich my life in enumerable ways. Although we compete in agility, rally obedience, herding, and a few other events, I never forget that my dogs are pets first, competition dogs second. They are the main focus of Cedes of Change.
What is this blog about?
In short, Cedes of Change is part training log, part photo arsenal, and part recipe book... with a huge helping of randomness on the side. I am very interested in the study of animal behavior, so I post about that occasionally. Sometimes I do product reviews and giveaways to my blog readers as well. Do you have a pet product that you're looking to spread the word about? Send me an email... I'd love to talk with you about featuring a review of your product on my blog.
When was this blog started, and where did you get the idea?
I started Cedes of Change in July of 2010 after reading the book Merle's Door, by Ted Kerasote. I know it sounds cliche, but the book totally changed how I felt about dogs. At the time, I was currently blogging over at Journeys With Cedar and Moss, my old blog, which was primarily a training journal and not terribly interesting to anyone but me. I enjoyed the training log aspect of the blog, but thought I could do better. After some thought (and, okay, a lot of playing with templates, LOL), Cedes of Change was born.
